Louella Belle is our daughter's nickname. If we translated her nickname from French and old Teutonic German, it would be beautiful warrior princess. That's why we wanted to name our company after her. It's a combination of strength, beauty and multi-cultural influences which reflects what we love.  Brown and I have worked in the artistic field ranging from fashion design to photography for over 50 years  (that's both our experiences together) and from our many multi-disciplinary skills we wanted to combine our love of antiques, travel, coffee, food and photography into an artisanal space where people can celebrate life's many pleasures. This idea took root when people would visit us in our New York loft and claim that our loft looked like the home of an old sea captain who had just returned from his many trips abroad and filled it with antiques, art and collectibles from allover the world. Many of our friends would say they had gone back in time where they felt super peaceful, at ease and inspired. That sentiment struck a chord within us and to this day, our home is filled with many loved and gently used antique furniture, collectibles and art from allover the world. This is  our small and humble contribution towards sustainability. 

 

For the past 8 years we lived in Belgium and in August 2022, we moved back to Austin, Texas where we grew up and attended the University of Texas. We realised this was our moment to create this dream of a curated lifestyle and photographic venue, combining all of our passions and showcase the varied and wonderful antiques, art and collectibles we acquired through our many years of travel and exploration. 

 

We are currently working on healthy gluten-free Chinese snacks and sauces. I am reworking the recipes given to me by my mother. When we are ready to launch this new venture, we can share with y'all the launch date.
