Antique French Provencal Bedside Table
A graceful yet sturdy piece crafted in the French Provencal style
Originally bought from an antique dealer in New York City East Village in the late 1980s, it already had this "shabby chic" painted effect and antique brass knob. Has not been altered and has achieved even more character with the natural aging and use through time. You can see bits of the wood peeking through.
A bit of history to date the piece. On the underside of the drawer, written and dated in pencil reads "$11.40 is hidden in the closet of my room" signed by Ken on 03/01/35. Believe this piece to be made circa early 1900s in the USA.
Features delicate and intricate details along the edges of the top and legs. Fluted, tapered column legs, ending with an arrow foot and showcases a bow and ribbon motifs on the front corner piece.
